The Perfect Sunday

Hmmm, woke up to fluffy white snow on the ground and occasional light snow falling. It felt so Christmasy and calm and peaceful.
I made some luscious juice (apple, strawberry and carrot) and a big green smoothie w/ extra greens.
I'm so grateful that the Western Big Mind Center (formally know as Kanzeon Zen Center) in SLC broadcasts their Sunday talks. I found so much inspiration and solace in the Zen Center while I lived in Salt Lake and I've missed it since moving to Idaho Falls.
Today the Sunday gathering was a beautiful Dharma transmission ceremony. I have never seen one before so it was interesting to witness.
The pic I posted is of Genpo Roshi. He is the teacher and Zen master at the Kanzeon Zen Center. This picture captures him so well I had to share it. He's such a wise and calming presence. I've started going to the Zen group here in Idaho Falls. I would really like to put "take refuge in the sangha" into practice.
This afternoon the kids and I went to Freeman Park and went sledding and the kids did some snowboarding. The temperature was awesome and the air so cool and cleansing. I got some exercise running up and down the hills, too. I couldn't find the camera before we left, hence no pictures.
We did some grocery shopping on the way home so I could stock up on some more juicing ingredients. I am committing to try "Sarma's Cilantro Shake" tomorrow.
